Megan Seres is a multi-award winning Australian artist who, in 2004, completed a Fine Arts degree with 1st Class honours at the National Art School, Sydney Australia.
Solo shows include ‘Fairy Tales, Myth and Imaginary Tales, 2016, ‘Before the Ending, 2018, ‘Carriers of the Light’ 2021 and ‘Studies’ 2022.
She has been included in 25+ group shows and has been a finalist in 25+ art prizes nationally. Her work is held in numerous private and public collections including Adderton House, QLD; Australian Standfirst, VIC; Moran Arts Foundation and Redlands, NSW.
Commissions include 20+ artworks created for the TV series ‘Love My Way’ for Southern Star Pictures and 12 artworks for Adderton House.
Megan was invited by Harvard’s Professor Flossie S J Chua to contribute her work ‘Danger of a Single Story’ to the ‘Arts as Civic Commons’ Image Bank.
Additional projects include portrait commissions, teaching workshops, mentoring, artist talks, art prize judging, inclusion in the consultation meeting of ‘Revising the Code of Practice’, National Association of the Arts Australia (NAVA) and an invitation to write an ‘Artists Guide to Competitions’ for NAVA and two editorial submissions for Art Almanac.
Megan is a storyteller and poetry is a new approach to revealing the artist’s most inner thoughts. Her poetry is often related to spirituality, metaphysics, memory and feminism. As a new genre for the artist, she has been able to express the thoughts, ideas and emotions that would otherwise be left unsaid. Megan is working on a book of poems and other musings that will be published in 2024/25.
